Dominion Energy Riverrock, the nation’s premier outdoor sports and music festival, returns to Richmond’s downtown riverfront May 15–17 for its 18th year of adventure, competition, and live music along the James River.
While construction continues on the Brown’s Island Improvement Project, 2026 programming will shift to the surrounding riverfront corridor, including Tredegar Street, Tredegar Green, and nearby downtown spaces, maintaining the immersive Riverrock experience attendees expect.
The weekend features trail running, mountain biking, yoga, fishing competitions, and more, along with signature events like Subaru Ultimate Air Dogs, Boulder Bash and Boulder Blitz, and kayaking and SUP competitions on the James River’s Class III and IV rapids. Adventure Zones offer free, hands-on activities for all ages.
The 2026 music lineup includes Bucko, Clay Street Unit, SNACKTIME, Circles Around The Sun, Deau Eyes, Illiterate Light, and more, with all performances free and open to the public.
The event serves to promote Downtown Richmond’s unique riverfront, trails, and whitewater rapids to outdoor enthusiasts and introduce Richmond’s outdoor adventure opportunities to residents and visitors from around the country.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, because they’ll be jealous if they miss out on the festival! Dominion Energy Riverrock is arguably the most dog-friendly event in RVA!

Is re-entry permitted?
Absolutely! In fact, we think you should visit the festival Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!
What happens if it rains?
We are a rain or shine event. If inclement weather occurs we will notify all participants of any schedule changes or alternate plans ASAP. We will do this via email and through our social media!
