All aboard the Riverfront Canal Cruises canal boat as we set sail on the Kanawha Canal for a historically narrated tour from one of our most-experienced batteau drivers as he touches on the SOLs for Virginia Studies and US History to 1865, assisting 4th and 5th graders as they complete the school year in a fun way. Of course, this 360° tour of the canal isn’t just for kids! Children and adults of all ages will enjoy Richmond’s amazing history. The virtual 360° simulates an actual tour of the canal in the authentic boats, while seeing the restored James River and Kanawha Canal, the scenic Canal Walk, the Tidewater Connection Locks from 1853, the unique Triple Crossing railroads, historic architecture, the Virginia Capital Trail, the Low Line gardens, and James River wildlife.
