804 Day, celebrated annually on August 4th (8/04) in Richmond, VA has been an unofficial city-wide holiday for years. On Friday, August 4, the City of Richmond, Radio One and Shockoe Records will take over the area in and around 17th Street Market in Shockoe Bottom! With three stages hosting 17 local performers, 804 Day will be the biggest block party in RVA!
804 Day will showcase performances from a diverse array of local indie-rock, hip-hop, jazz, folk, soul and Latin performers. 804 Day will be held in the area around the 17th Street Farmers Market, between 16th and 17th streets from East Main to East Grace. Local food and beer trucks will be on-site for the festivities. Nonprofit organizations and arts and crafts vendors will also be showcased, and there will be a Kid's Zone play area. In between the performances, the mayor will speak and award a proclamation, declaring Aug. 4 to be 804 Day.
