1. Dominion Energy Riverrock

Dominion Energy Riverrock is a full weekend of sports and music on downtown Richmond’s riverfront. 2. GalaxyCon

3. Broad Appetit

June 2 on Broad Street

You've waited all year for the return of Broad Appétit! Enjoy the selection of food from the best local restaurants our fine city has to offer - and all at $3 a plate! Bring your appetite and cash and plan on grazing your way down Broad Street. There will be plenty of Virginia wines and beers to wash down the delicious offerings with, as well as great vendors to visit and music to please your ears. Remember your re-usable shopping bag and gather up your favorite in-season produce from local farmers and food providers.

4. National Learn to Row Day

June 1 at Rockett's Landing

The 18th-annual nationwide Learn to Row Day hosted by Richmond Community Rowing will have boathouse tours, lessons on how to use the rowing machine, dock rowing, boat viewings and more! The event is entirely FREE and everyone is welcome.

5. Crab Cake Week

June 1-9 at Bar Solita, Julep's, Lemaire, Rappahannock & more!

The first Crab Cake Week will highlight and support The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay during the week with participating restaurants serving local and sustainably sourced Chesapeake Bay blue crabs with 10% being donated to the Alliance.

6. 20th Anniversary of the Riverfront Historic Canal Cruises

June 5 at The Turning Basin

Twenty years later to the day, on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, Riverfront Canal Cruises will be offering FREE canal boat rides from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in recognition of their 20th anniversary. Visitors will also receive a FREE frozen treat during those three hours courtesy of Venture Richmond.

8. The Really Big Show

June 7 at ART 180

ART 180 is shutting down the streets and filling it with beautiful youth art, food trucks, dancing, live musical performances, games, and more in the Arts & Cultural District and the historic, vibrant Jackson Ward neighborhood they call home! This high-energy annual event provides a rich opportunity for young people from ART 180 program sites across Richmond to share their art, and for the public to celebrate and encourage their creative expression.

9. Music in the Garden

Thursdays in June at The Valentine

The Valentine is kicking off its free Music in the Garden series in June! Taking place in the Valentine Garden on June 6, 13 and 20, these free events will offer audiences unique, family-friendly performances in a beautiful atmosphere, as well as free access to the Valentine’s exhibitions. Each evening will feature two performances by musicians from different genres and distinct styles, encouraging fans to interact and explore their musical boundaries. Beer and wine will be on sale, and the Carriage House Cafe at the Valentine will be open.

12. Jam Sandwich

June 15 at Mayo Island

Jam Sandwich is bringing you fresh-baked jams hot out of the oven this year! Come to their "secret spot" on Mayo Island, in the middle of Richmond, for a whole day full of friends, good times, and great jams. Live music all day from 12-10pm, vendors, food trucks, beer and cocktails!

13. India Mela

14. Friday Cheers

Fridays in May & June at Brown's Island

In 2019, Friday Cheers celebrates its 35th anniversary. As the longest running and largest event of its kind in Richmond, Friday Cheers showcases some of the nation’s hottest touring bands and all-time regional favorites. This family-friendly event has been named Style Weekly’s “Best Concert Series” in Richmond the last seven years in a row. Tickets to individual shows are $5 or $10, but children 12 and under are FREE!
