Located in the heart of downtown Richmond, Brown's Island is one of the largest outdoor rental venues within city limits and offers a variety of options for your event, resources to help you plan your event and ample space to scale your event to fit your needs.
Brown's Island is an amazing, six acre waterfront space that provides a beautiful backdrop for a variety of events ranging from company benefits and marathons to concerts and cultural festivals. Whether your event needs a stage, electricity for food vendors, multiple entry points for event crew and attendees or flexibility for the layout of your event, Brown's Island offers you all of those amenities (and more).
Brown's Island is able to accommodate 16,000 people and is known for being the home to some of Richmond's largest free and ticketed events like the Richmond Folk Festival, Art of Noise RVA, Virginia Pride, Friday Cheers and The Broadberry Entertainment Group concerts. Brown's Island capacity makes a great place for live music, food festivals and larger-than-life celebrations.
The access and proximity to the Richmond riverfront makes Brown's Island the perfect choice for outdoor and sporting events like Dominion Energy Riverrock and Richmond Marathon. Brown's Island has been the host to dog dock jumping contests, SUP kayaking in the canal, and the finish line and celebration party for races. If it can be done outdoors, it can be done on Brown's Island!
The size of Brown's Island allows for different configurations, the ability to spread out and allows for the option of micro sites depending on your needs. Brown's Island has executed pod-style concerts, company functions, family picnics, outdoor movie screenings, filming for movies and television series and other non-traditional events that allow you to go as big, or as intimate, as you want.
While Venture Richmond does not serve as an event production company for your event, we do provide you with all the necessary contact information and relevant resources to aid you in planning and securing your event. Some of these resources include permitting, insurance policy and city requirements, as well as contact information for parking, street closures, security and local companies that specialize in executing event production and logistics.
