Downtown RVA Events to Fill Your Fall Calendar
From outdoors and markets to food festivals and art exhibits, Explore our list of events and things to do this fall in RVA!
1. ALS Walk
October 23 @ Brown's Island

The Walk to Defeat ALS is a flagship fundraiser and walk that honors individuals currently battling ALS, as well as those who have lost their courageous battle to the disease. The mission is to come together to raise as much money as possible to fund advocacy, research, and care services provided by The ALS Association.
2. RVA Black Farmers Market
October 24, November 14 & November 28 @ 17th Street Market

A space for Black creators, crafters, farmers, and growers to show Richmond their talents, RVA Black Farmers Market returns to the 17th Street Market outdoor venue on select Sundays this fall.
3. Movies on Brown's Island
October 29 @ Brown's Island

Movies on the Island, presented by Dominion Energy, is a new, outdoor family activity, brought to you by Venture Richmond Events. Find your perfect spot on Brown’s Island and enjoy an evening featuring a family-favorite film while taking in the stunning views of the James River and Downtown’s skyline.
4. RVA First Fridays
November 5 @ Richmond Arts District

Show Broad Street some love and explore galleries, shops, restaurants, non-profits and more on the first Friday of every month at RVA First Fridays.
5. RVA Bacon Festival
November 7 @ 17th Street Market

Enjoy all the bacon you can eat at this annual festival that features vendors, beer and bacon any way you want it.
6. InLight 2021
November 12-13 @ Great Shiplock Park, Chapel Island, Low Line & Virginia Capital Trail

InLight is an annual outdoor, two-night exhibition that features artwork that embraces light and sound through sculpture, installation, and performance integrated into the city landscape and environment.
7. Richmond Night Market
November 13 @ 17th Street Market

Richmond Night Market is a monthly, open-air night market held at the 17th Street Market and features a family-friendly experience filled with music, programming and vendors.
8. Richmond Marathon
November 13 @ Brown's Island
​
Run through scenic and historic sections of Richmond, including along and across the beautiful James River. The marathon course is great for first-timers and features some rolling hills. The marathon is USA Track & Field sanctioned and certified and is a top Boston Qualifier.
9. Craft + Design 2021
November 19 @ Virtual

Now in its 57th year, Craft + Design is a museum-quality show that has garnered a reputation for showcasing the finest in contemporary craft. Shoppers spend the weekend browsing the work of artists from all over the country from the comfort of their own home.
