Joel Campos Nuñez

Riverfront Canal Cruises Manager / Riverfront Operations Assistant

Joel Campos-Nunez originally came to Richmond to attend the University of Richmond. After graduating, he set out to fulfill his passion to serve and give back to his community. He has continued to do so at Venture Richmond through his position as Manager of Riverfront Canal Cruises and Assistant to Riverfront Operations.

Out of the office you can find Joel walking around the city taking in the scenes, especially down by the James. He enjoys capturing photos of the city, its skyline and the river - his favorite spots to do so are along the bridges crossing over the James. Joel also enjoys indulging in the local food around downtown. He is committed to expanding his palate with the plethora of downtown eats Richmond has to offer. Some of his favorite spots are: The British Embassy, Buttermilk & Honey, as well as newcomer District Chicken and Gyro!

Born in Loudoun County, Virginia he has found himself down I-95 and has called Richmond home for the past seven years. He is a proud Boricua and Salvadoran.

  • Favorite Venture Richmond Event: Richmond Folk Festival will always have a warm space in my heart because it was the first event I went to when I first moved to RVA.
  • Favorite Downtown Attraction: Maggie L. Walker Historic Site because of the history within the exhibit as well as the beautiful outdoor courtyard.
  • Downtown Fun Fact: The last alligator housed in the Jefferson Hotel died in 1948, RIP Old Pompey.
