#RocktheOutdoors

From yoga classes and trail runs to art installations and live music, you'll find something for everyone (and everywhere) at this year's Dominion Energy Riverrock!

1. Catch an Impromptu Concert

In case RVA's award-winning trail system, gorgeous riverfront, and abundant outdoor amenities aren’t enough reason to #RocktheOutdoors, maybe a pop-up show by a well-known band is? Throughout the weekend, park-goers, trail-users, and the like might happen to find themselves enjoying an impromptu musical performance in or around the James River Park System. Whether you find yourself jamming to a solo-acoustic act or a multi-piece band, be sure to dance and sing along in true Dominion Energy Riverrock fashion. Keep an eye on social media this weekend for more details regarding the when and where!

2. Race Around Richmond

While the focus this year is small-scale participant events and partnerships with local organizations that share a commitment to increasing access to the outdoors for all, you'll still find some Riverrock favorites like the James River Scramble 10K Trail Run at this weekend's celebration of all things outdoors. Find the perfect race for you when you sign up for the Forrest Hill 5K, James River Scramble 10K or the Bust the Banks Half Marathon!

3. Seek Adventure with a Scavenger Hunt

The #RocktheOutdoors Scavenger Hunt is a free and fun way to engage and explore, get outside and earn points by completing adventurous missions by yourself or with a team. You have all weekend to complete our creative challenges for the chance to win cool prizes!

4. Join in the Action on the James

There's no better place to try out a new water sport or explore the James River for the first time than at Riverrock! Go on a guided river trip with the James River Association or enjoy a free SUP and kayak demo with Waterfront RVA this weekend when you explore the James this weekend. If you're feeling more adventurous, or want to watch the adventure from a safe distance, make sure to check out events like Downriver Paddle, SUP Cross or Kayak Boatercross!

5. Pop by a Pop-up Event

There are plenty of activities for families, friends of the James and fans to participate in this weekend. Looking to give back and connect with nature? Try the trash clean-up with JRPS at Belle Isle! Want to try a group activity led by a pro? Jeff Lenosky's group mountain biking ride is the way to go! Trying to find fun for the whole family? Join the Family Fitness Party with Fitness Warriors on Brown's Island or Blue Sky Fund's Home Science Experiment Kits! You'll find all of this (and more!) at Riverrock this weekend!

6. Be Part of an Art Installation

The project will take place at Brown's Island on Saturday, May 15, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Sunday, May 16, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Dandelion Wishes is a whimsical, kinetic installation that engages participants to create dandelion seeds using bicycle tires.
