Cheers to 2019!

Our 2019 never had a dull moment, when we weren’t bringing 500,000 visitors downtown with our events, our Clean & Safe program collected more than 225,000 gallons of litter, leaves, and weeds from over 400 blocks downtown and our Riverfront Canal Cruises celebrated 20 years of offering 33,000 visitors historic rides along the Kanawha Canal this year.

Making an Impact in Downtown RVA

With so much to look back on and look forward to in 2020, we wanted to celebrate our landmark year with a look back at our favorite moments and accomplishments over the past 12 months:

  • 220,000 record-breaking visitors attended the 15th year of the Richmond Folk Festival
  • 33,000 visitors to Riverfront Canal Cruises in 2019, its 20th anniversary year

  • 263 planters and hanging baskets, 83 blocks beautified and 20 acres along the riverfront
  • 200 restaurants are part of downtown's spectacular restaurant scene, which were promoted by Venture Richmond
  • 500,000 visitors to downtown through our events
